Application Steps

Step 1. Complete an online application to ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ here.

Step 2. Following admission to ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ, you will receive access via your  to the.

Write a short essay (approximately 500 words) responding to one of the following prompts.

1. What role do you think media plays in community life? In what ways would a media education be an important part of developing healthy civic engagement? What elements of Media Fellows do you imagine helping you grow in these ways, and why?

2. Explain your exposure to and/or experience with developing media content. How has this experience and/or exposure influenced how you consume and think about media?

In reading your response, we will be looking for evidence of the following:

Your ability to think creatively and critically about media
Your ability to demonstrate curiosity in your thinking
Your ability to provide clear and specific examples

Step 3. If selected, you will be notified of your status in the program within 2 weeks of completing the application requirements.

Lateral Application

The application deadline for current ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµ students wishing to enter the program in 2024-25 as sophomores is May 1, 2024

Step 1. Complete the Lateral Application to Media Fellows here.

Step 2. Return the completed form to Marilyn Culler in the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media.
